V - E + F = 2
This sculpture is a representation of a dodecahedron which is one of the 5 Platonic Solids. The Platonic Solids were once believed to possess magical powers because of their uniqueness.

The name of the sculpture, V - E + F = 2, is a formula derived by the mathematician Euler. The formula, which means vertex – edges + faces = 2, holds true for any regular polyhedra. The dodecahedron can be made by rotating three golden rectangles and then joining the corners of the rectangles. The sculpture is made from welded metal strip, with a rope pattern.

This piece was short-listed for the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Show 2014.
