Stratford Works
Stratford was once home to one of the largest marshalling yards and railway works in Europe. The railway works manufactured railway carriages, steam engines, and acted as sidings for the extensive rail network which was part of the Isle of Dogs and Royal Docks.

All of the sidings and works have now been replaced by the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, WestField Shopping Centre and Stratford International Railway Station. Traces of the original track layout still remain, now used by the DLR and London Overground.

I redrawn the graphic from an original 1940 map. I was drawn to the layout of the tracks, in particular how they were reminiscent of an electrical circuit. The images below show some detailing of the graphic which is currently on display at Stratford Circus E15.
